Consortium for American Woodwind Orchestra Music
Kevin Krumenauer’s Meltdown (5'18") is a high-energy dive into woodwind sounds and shifting harmonies. Written mostly in a driving 7/8, it throws in surprise one-bar shifts to 6/8, 2/4, and even 2/8, keeping players and listeners on their toes. The piece unfolds like the forging of a sword—each section shaping and refining the music until, by the end, the final form is revealed in full.

Chris Evan Hass’s Infernal Waters (3'52") takes listeners on a fiery journey through Phlegethon, the river of fire in the Underworld. With constant time signature shifts, dark and complex harmonies, and the deep, resonant voices of the bass and contrabass woodwinds, the piece plunges into the brutal depths of the Inferno, capturing its relentless energy and intensity.
